What sets a Square D Home apart from the rest?
At Square D Homes, we believe that minimum code is “Not good enough.”
Let me explain: minimum code requires the wind load capacity for a home built in North Central Florida, to withstand a wind impact of 110 mph. As builders from South Florida, we were required to build structures capable of withstanding 140 mph. In 1992, as Hurricane Andrew tore through South Florida, it exposed the minimum building code for what is was; insufficient and unacceptable! In other words the standard building code was
“Not good enough.”
At Square D Homes, we meet and exceed the minimum building code. What we consider standard, the others consider an upgrade. Let’s compare:
120 mph our standard 110 mph code
SQUARE D HOMES OTHER BUILDERS
5/8 clipped OSB roof sheathing 7/16 OSB
½” all thread steel rod engineering SP 4 clips

As you can see, we can do better, and at Square D Homes, we do!
